Norton Medical was developed following many years of contemplation. The founder of Norton Medical aspires to provide high quality, scientific based, accessible and affordable primary health care. Dr. Norton started practicing primary care in 1998. Over the past 25 years, he has observed an extensive change in the focus of primary medical care. In today’s world of medicine, the focus of medical providers has transitioned from “patient focused care” to “laptop computer focused care”. Dr. Norton stays current with literature regarding physician burnout and patient frustrations in their pursuit of primary medical care. Literature suggests that 80% of a primary care provider’s workday in clinic is spent looking at a computer, only 20% of the workday listening, talking and examining the patients. This trend is a detriment to the “provider – patient” relationship and the quality of care provided to patients. Dr. Norton strives to rebuke this detrimental trend with the development of Norton Medical.
